only just found this site
and its been quite helpful so far!
this is my second 19
and fourth gearbox!
does anyone know how to make these boxs stronger, or any other boxs that will fit ?
i dont know anyone with a 19 16v who hasnt had to do something to the gearbox

its not that, just ive always had used ones , but they have all bust on me.
i was parking in tesco when my latest one fucked up.

If the box is treated gently it will last, you dont have to be booting it at the exact time it goes bang,
Was it the diff circlip, if so try that 1st £15 from Renault
Dont wheelspin is a good start,
Treat it well and it will serve you
There is a box that is stronger, but it is expensive JC5 box |

whats the name of the box i should search for?
which renault did they come off originally?

Jc5 053 is from a megane 2.0 16v
The ratios aren't that far out from a jb3 083, a few mph @7k rpm in 3rd 4th and 5th. 1st and second are the same |

yes it will fit. You will have a gap at the bottom when its fitted don't worry about it. |
