Giving up smoking, decided to do it a few weeks ago. Today was my start day.
Got out of bed this mornin and put on me patch. Been chewing doublemint since then
Feeling a bit funny at the minute. I'm not feeling any nicotine withdrawl symptoms except for severe lack of concentration |

my mum stopped smoking on the 16th dec last year, after 30 years of it, not had one since.
She found the hardest bit was a week or so later.
Also your mates (arseholes always are) will try ahd make you smoke again, if they do bin them, don't need fuckwits around you. |

Luckily my giving up is the same time hanna moved (not a conincidence, she gave up her friends and country, i give up smoking) so theres a break in my normal routine and i don't see my mates as much. |

I signed up for the personalised plan you see advertised on the telly. www.clicktoquit.com Its free to do and seems quite good, even just for a bit of support.
I tried the gum before but i always found myself sayin "i's rather have a smoke than chew this" at least the patch is always there and always working |

Started when I was 16 (I'm 24) stopped cold turkey style in Feb this year. 8 months on and still going strong.
Good Luck Buddy! Watch out for the 3 month mark, that was a bad patch for me. |

I mean the personalised plan and site is free, patches aren't!
Funny you should mention any problems...
I was told to leave the patch on over night to fight off the morning craving but its resulted in nightmares and some wicked hallucinations when waking at 4am. Brilliant lol
Will be removing the patch tonight...
Don't know how you can give up cold turkey. Even if the patches are 90% placebo at least thats somethin! |

I gave up after spending £2k of a minimum wage job on fags every year. Bin without for coming up to a year now but I still have the odd one on a saturday night, having said that I haven't had one at all for about a month and a half. |

I was on 20 a day for 16yrs then gave up on july 2001, my 1st attempt was on patches and i crashed and burned within days
my 2nd attempt i just went cold turkey, im not shy to admit i was in hell for the 1st 2 weeks, but i found phoning my g/f everytime i had a bad craving and just talking to her helped tons, then after about 20mins the craving would go, and i became really short tempered, my Army section did'nt come near me in weeks, and i think i slept on the sofa a few times aswell for trying to pick an arguement with the g/f
on my 1st week of giving up my Battalion was on a huge parade, and i had to march out and give a salute to a royal member, i was a bag of nerves, all because of a fag
mostly all my mates said i would'nt do it but to be honest that just made me more determined, and i had the last luagh when they all tried and failed,
although i did put on 1, 1/2 stone but trying to sort that out as we speak
Good luck Chet, im sure you'll do it |

Day 12 now and not one smoke! Yey me
I haven't got the dreaded cough yet but i'm waitin on it
21mg sounds about right, i think the plan is 21 for 6 weeks, 14 for 2 weeks and 7 for another 2 weeks.
I never went to the doctor or anything about the patches so i dunno what the story is there. The way i see it, even if they are expensive they're still cheaper than smokin!
I've gained a healthy 2 pound since i gave up, i'll still underweight so if i gain 1.5 stone i'll be happy. Will google now and see my ideal weight... |
