well today i have acquired another vehicle.
What is it? Well, its another car identical to the one i already own. That is, a 449 blue 3dr 19 16v.
No pics yet, ill take some tomorrow.
heres the details:
k reg
96000 miles
K&N filter
koni yellow suspension (+lowered torsion bar )
stainless exhaust (a non neddy one)
1000w amp
JVC head unit
some big sub speaker in the boot
kenwood speakers all round
MOT till april
various little things like clear side repeaters
The beauty of this car is that all the things that are slightly scabby about mine are coincidentally pretty mint on it. For example, the bonnet has no rust whatsoever, im guessing it is a replacement, and looks like it has been siliconed around the vent from new so hopefully the rust will not appear.
problems:
Driver side wing is battered. I have another one in the shed.
Engine runs on 2 cylinders. The guy i bought it off bought new plugs, leads and dizzy cap to try to fix it. Thinking that it might be the head gasket blown between 2 cylinders, he had a compression test done and it was fine. Should be an easy fix i reckon.
otherwise, pretty good condition.
how much? £250. Now i know Chris will say thats a silly price to pay, but i can easily get that back, and thats AFTER i scavenge off it the bits that i want for my own. I got £115 for my standard alloys and that was with no centre caps. This one has all 4 caps. Thats just an example.
i now have to decide what to do with the beast:
option 1: swap all the bits such as the konis and the bonnet etc over to mine, fix the engine, put on the spare wing, put some tax on it and flog it.
option 2: swap all the bits such as the konis and the bonnet etc over to mine, and give whats left to Addie
option 3: swap all the bits such as the konis and the bonnet etc over to mine, and break the rest to get my money back.
option 3a: take the engine out and rebuild it over the winter, to put in mine next year.
optioin 4: swap all the bits such as the konis and the bonnet etc over to mine, then get it running and then use it as a guinea pig for something a bit special, engine-mod wise... |

I like option 2 best, wonder why?
I wouldn't let you give it me for free tho, I'd have to sort you out with something
£250 aint a bad price for the Bonnet / Koni's etc - You could sell the centre caps for £50, JVC HU for £50, Sub for £50 swap ur grills over.... |

you'll make feck all breaking it mate, you'll also have a shell on the drive for a year or 2 f you wanna break it.
Either fix it and sell it plus swap the good bits to yours then or you can keep it and sell yours. |

other then dumping broken furniture, that space is not used for anything. this will be the car's new home. i'll take the fence section down, move it in then put the fence back up. can stay there till doomsday for all i care.
the shed at the bottom left has nothing in it really, that can be storage for the bits stripped off |

Neal mate as a man who has had a fair amout of these I am recommendign you don't break it, you won't sell much if anything from it really and what you do sell will take time.
Take the good stuff and either bin it or sort it to sell. |

ok pictures as promised
its new home for the night, ill move into the garden tomorrow
engine looks pretty clean, someones had a go at the injector wiring to fix it by the looks of it
a seat and footwell full of bits
the only major panel damage
the stereo equipment fitted to it. HU looks alright, its JVC. amp looks a bit crappy, and i dont know what the sub is because i cant open the boot. I'm not into the neddy stuff anyway, so i might give those to my sis's boyfriend because he is. |

new one looks nicer than your old one.
Sort it and sell it mate, don't break it.
When george got his white hatch the engine had been swapped and the injector wiring loom had been cut then twisted together.
Like the tape on the drivers seat! lol
Easy to open the boot. Fold the seat down like you have go into the boot and if you look you'll see at the lkatch theres a small rectangular bit, lever it up with a screwdriver and it'll pop open.
AMP's been fitted by a muppet like 90% of them are.
I have a 449 wing if you need it.
Exahust looks a lot better than the twin one you have. |

how does it look nicer than the one i have? take it from me it is not! It has rusty sills like JB's. only thing that is better about it bodily is the bonnet, so ill be swapping that over.
thanks for the boot opening advice!
i already have a wing, but thanks anyway.
exhaust (and bumper to suit) will be getting swapped... aside from being far less neddy, it has decent mountings on it so there will be no need for my bodged efforts. |
