Removed the old tensioner. You can see the score marks around the bearing, it was badly worn and was not smooth when revolving. New one next to it. Refitted new one to the water pump stud.

If you chuck radweld in you might aswell just drain the coolant and fuck it that way.

Just started the car after swapping the heads over and it starts fine but there is a coolant leak at the rear of the head on the distributor side.
There are no other leaks anywhere on the head just ... |

cheers Chris, when you say just take the TB off, surely this is dodgy without removing the fuel pressure otherwise petrol will piss everywhere when taking the lines off the TB?

If when you remove the rear drums, the bearing comes apart what does that signify? Drum removed wrongly or bearing not pressed in correctly? |

I found that cap from halfords doesn't realese the pressure from the system and causing headgasket failures. At least it seemed to on my old clio. |

Spray it with loads of WD40 and let it soak in. Then try to get it turning in the white bit as Chris told me. Should be able to grab it and pull it out once it starts to turn.
