head gasket isnt a cheap job, and the engine needs a new clutch as well.
the garages that i have spoke to so far are asking a fair wedge more than the 200 pounds i have to do these 2 jobs. thats why ...

neal, i sold my meggy engine to fund some mods/ repairs to my 1.8, and them 2 days after i sold my head gasket blew.
leaving me to think that god doesnt like me :o

does any one know of any scrap dealers/ engine places down south? i've been through the yellow pages today to see if any one has anything, and not a single person has a 1.8 16v let alone a 2.0 16v!!

dont know yet guys, i suspect a head gasket failure on mine, and with the clutch and moutings gone, i might just rebuild a new engine and drop that in. will save me some labout costs!

excellent! blew the head gasket on my clio at the weekend, figured it may well be cheaper to SORn it, and re-build better and stronger rather than fix the engine i have.
