hi, can anyone tell me if the 2.2 laguna head is the same as the 2.2 turbo diesel espace head, and are the valves the same. I.m thinking of a head swap as the one on mine got manked when the timing belt snapped, and the A.A. man tried to start it a few times !! |

The 2.2 Turbo Diesel (G8T-760) has the same cylinder head to every other G8T-760 (Laguna, Espace) how ever the 2.2 N/A (G8T-790,704 and so on) have a different cylinder head as there are belt takeoffs on both sides of the cam to drive the power steering, water pump etc and is dependant on equipment level so get the correct head for your car. You can find the engine code on the bottom front of the block or on the timing belt pulley cover if the white sticker is still there.
You should be quite thankfull though that you've got the N/A as they're a bit easier to find that the Turbo's. They weren't made for long and were soon replaced by the common rail 1.9/2.2DCi. The head shouldn't cost too much to rebuild and it's only got 12 valves to replace (if it needs them all). |
