im after a bit of advice on whats wrong with my car.
it started with a clunking coming from the passenger side wheel area when i went over bumps, which got me thinking the suspension bushes or the balljoint had gone.
upon inspection there was no play on the passenger side wheel, and excessive play on the drivers side?!?
this happens both when the car is on the ground (moving the wheel back and forward)
and when its jacked up (grabbing at 12 and 6oclock and moving)
the play seems to come from the balljoint area, as the lower suspension arm does not move when i wiggle the wheel, however the spring, damper, caliper, disk and wheel all do.
any ideas? |

the thing that confused me was that the clunking was coming from the passenger side.
i drive up a kerb so the passenger side was up on it, then drove off and it clunked.
did this on the drivers side and nothing. |

its not the coil springs, ive felt all the way round them for cracks and breakages, and been round pressing each corner of the car down and none bounce.
ill whip the balljoint off at the w/e and see what the damage is. |
