nip up the cam cover bolts if theyre loose. If not, get a new cam cover gasket. |

funny u should say that, coz when i was putting all the ht leads back in place, i went round tightening loadsa bolts an almost all of the ones holding the rocker cover on were really loose!!! hopefully that should be the end of it |

clean em, put em back and watch them. if it doesn't come back then don't worry. at the moment you've solved the problem by removing the oil from the plug wells
If they all have the problem its more like whatever it is has got in from above rather than ALL the plugs being loose. remember its possible for rainwater and general grime to get down there occasionally
EDIT: Sounds like you've fixed it. All thse pesky rocker cover bolts eh! theres no harm in whipping that off and taking a look at the gasket, you dont have to drain the oil or anything like that, just remove anything thats attached |

hi tom, thanks for that, i was wondering if it was the rain water getting in from the vent on the bonnet??? under the bonnet below the vent is summit that catches the water but the drainage hole is right above where plugs 1 & 2 are? could be the water i suppose |

it will be rocker cover gasket related if it was loose could be that but for 7-9 quid its worth replacing
and i would say that the oil on the thread is from when you are un-doing the plugs |
