For the last week or so there's been a continuous knocking noise that really doesn't sound too healthy! Its coming from around the o/s driveshaft area but cant be too sure as can only hear it when driving along. It gets faster the more you accelorate so thinking it might be the inner drivshaft CV joint?
The other problem is the steering wheel is wobbling around when going in a straight line. It probably only moves about an inch but its enough to be concerned about.
Any ideas would be awesome. Its a 95 1.4 RT by the way! |

front wheels might be out of balance hence the steering wheel wobbles |

have you checked the wheel for trueness?
Check the bottom balljoints as well as these can swing the car about and make it hard to hold it straight. |

Replaced the lower suspension ball joint bout 2 weeks ago as they were battered from the roads around leeds! As for the wheels being true, there's a large possibilty i might have knocked one out of shape going over a crater of a pot-hole the other day, il have a look later.
Still dont know whats causing the knocking noise though, tempted to take it to the garage & ask them whats causing it |

Suspension top mounts can knock, try spraying some WD40 in 'em and see if that gets rid of it. |
