Right then i have a 1.7 R5 and need to know what other carbs will suit my 5 im after a webber if i can get one for it as i need to replace the carb and i like webber carbs.
Also clutch cables are a pain in the arse on the 1.7 R5 is there a heavy duty longer lasting cable i could use? what are the best cables to get?

Cheers Chris will have a look to see if the 1.7's came with a webber carb. Haynes is saying they done 2 types of solex carb, they did do a webber carb but that was for the 1.4's. Will a carb from any other 1.7 Renault or volvo fit / work on my 5? |

most r5 1.7 came with a solex z10 its a twin choke. as far as i know nobody makes a manifold for twin webbers if thats what you want. if you want another engine i have a complete 30,000mile as long as you can collect. |

Thanks for the offer of the engine but i really dont have the space to store it at the mo. can i get any webber carbs to fit my 5 like a webber 40 (single)? and be able to buy a manifold for it or get a manifold modded to fit my engine?
Thanks

try here http://www.webcon.co.uk/
I know for a fact nobody makes a twin carb kit for a gtx, not even prima, so you will have to make 1 or get 1 made its because the exhaust and inlet manifold are bolted together. if you just wanted the carb I scrapped the gtx engine last week end try
