is the exhaust gasket steel side out or soft side out as it fits on boths way??

if its the exhaust manofold gasket then it only fits on 1 way the pointy way out. |

pointy, there's a soft pitted side, to which the old one this side is up against the head, and there is a steel shiny side...
I wouldn't bet on the other being right however, it DOES fit on both ways

oh you mean the head to manifold gasket?
metal face goes to the manfold fibre side to the head. |
