Hi Guys
Spoke to the garage earlier. The 19 is very poorly.
If you lot remeber i told you about cylinder number 3 having low compression. I thought it was the head gaskett, so bought one had gave it to my local garage to fix.
Well......
The head gaskett was indeed fooked but this was caused by a cracked head. He said that it was cracked right through the middle from no.2 to no.3, thus why it was a sack of shit.
Outcome.....
Either find a head for an E6J engine, or get a second hand engine.
Don't spose any one has either lying around that they want to donate to a very good cause. I will of course reward you handsomly.
He said that he would recommend the new (well, second hand) engine because then the whole thing is relativly newer, and the head has been working with the rest of the engine so it is less likely to have problems.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

I have a 1.4 head, 2 actually but I only have 1 you can have. It needs a couple of valves so you'd need to swap em over from your old head.
But I'd use me as a last resort as posting isn't cheap. Go to a scrappy.
Theres loads of knackered 19's, clios, meganes with the 1.3 3energy, you can use any, you just need to swap the manifolds over which is easy. |
