hi peeps!been sent over from RSC to see whether you can help me with my new renault!
its a R19 on a J plate,got full mongoose zorst,K&N tax and mot top nick,,got it for 50 quid coz the gears crunch sumtimes,so the owener thinks its the G box but i dont think so,the biting point changes and when it crunches,pump the clutch a few times,thn its ok again for a while,wht do u lot think?thx

Just outta interest, when the pedal fails, is it usually the plastic ratchet teeth that go or does the little tension spring loose the plot? |

teeth.
Spring usually gives no trouble unless its caught in something or not located properly. |

the ratchet fails without makign noise, sometimes it cracks/creaks others its quiet and you crunch the gears in.
pedals easy enough to change, should take about 20 mins or so. |

cheers will do:) been raggin it about over the w.e noticed the starter gets stuck sumtimes,have to try the key 3-4 times before it turns |

does it from cold aswell,tho,gonna give the contacts a clean,sounds like the solinoid is getting stuck |

That happened to mine, started died shortly afterwards, stuck a spare diesel starter on. |

contacts cleaned up and if that doesn't help strip the starter and clean it out. |
