its getting cold outside now ain't it!

After scraping the ice of the megane this morning and shovign it into the sunlight to help thaw it the tempo went from -5 to -3

A bit chilly.

Got down here and the chammy frozen solid as were all the other cars

ice all over and inside too!

Not any warmer now!

nice and sunny here all day long...not a cloud in the sky...still bloody cold altho not freezing. no frost this morning unless there was some pre-10am.

same here... nice clear-ish sky, no frost but still quite chilly, went out long enough to wash my car then pull the passenger wing mirror off the other car and 'uninstall' the amp and wiring. Then i'd had enough.

well theres still ice everywhere up here.

I was meant to have a go doing more on the blue prima but its covered in ice and I have struggled with all the cars doors and the neighbours car doors getting them all opened!

Had to use the blowtorch to get into the orion.

Its to cold, I'm getting soft in my old age.

oh yeah was concerned about project Y as it has no antifreeze in it. The washer bottle was frozen solid but the cooling system wasn't, wee bit of slush in bits but it started with a jump start and ran fine. Need to sort it otu though.

at least u dont live in finland where u have to plug ur car in everynight to stop it freezin to death....its odd...all cars just as a norm have a socket on the frt of the car and all car parking spaces havea little box with electrical wires to plug ur car in with....goin there in feb...cant wait! -20deg!!

i keep meaning to get onto the council and find out about renting one of the garages out back... could put project Z in there and an electric heater and have no fear of the cold. Also wouldn't get hassled constantly by the neighbours' poxy dogs.

wish I had a lockup or somehting.

Theres some not to far from my flat for rent but itsd paisley so you cant leave anything there and I wouldn't be leaving tools etc there so no point.

i have a garage as uve seen but cant fit a car in there...so if its work off the car i can do it in relative comfort...got a gas fire in there and recently rigged up a set of flourescent lights donated to me....need a good solid workbench now as all i got at the mo is an old kitchen unit which is well rickety...

also i want to get something like a heavy duty trolley...like the sort u get at B&Q as that would be best i have been thinking for unloading the engine from the car..moving it into the garage...work...wheel back out hoist back in....but where to get one...? might make one.

not really no...and a big trolley is hard to fit in the boot of a chammy

we aquired a makro flatbed trolley for moving engines about.

if you have an ikea near you go to the bargain corner, they sell very sturdy table tops etc there for a tenner etc if damaged and they can be made into a decent workbench.

or go round the back of the local supermarket and get one of their bread tray dollies, bit of plywood on top and youre away... done this in the past too.

freeezing!

Just been out on me back (again, I'm a tart! lol) putting the spare wheel cage on.

Tis a bit chilly!

-6 the weatherman said for tonight in central scotland, lovely.

Wheel cage back on, steelie back under the car, its like a complete car again! Also faced the shiny side down to catch all the crap from the roads, well the theory is it makes the underside a tad flatter thus lowering drag, by making the floor pan flatter.
