my guess would be transmission noise. a lot of racecars sound like this, although the whine is not as high-pitched in most cases.

downloading, I'll let you know.

Straight cut gears, PITA, you really cannot go any sort of distance in a car with them, drives you mental.

ahh minis and jack knight straight cut boxes, the joys. Sounds like your in reverse all the time, great.

Dog engagement boxes are good the problem is people rarely know how to shift them right, they try and take em slow, you need to slam them home.

double declutching involves the clutch only. Heel and toeing involves the accel pedal.

Used to be good at it as the cossie needed it to shift cleanly plus the big old turbo needed to get spinning or the rear wheels would lock on downshifts to 2nd from say 4th.

yeah thats double declutching, press clutch pull out of gear let clutch up to get the box spinning clutch back in select the gear you want job done.

Older cars with no synchro on 1st and 2nd need that treatment.

Even older ones with straight cut no snychro 1st gears etc need the car to come toa stop pretty much to select 1st.

Watched the vid with Alan today all th eway through, that 320 is a tad nippy eh! he was beating everyone.

Like I said to alan he was that quick so he could get out of the car away from the whine!

PITA pain in the arse

Straight cut boxes are horrendous to drive any sort of distance in. Like I said sounds like your in reverse all the time. Any trip on the motorway is a voyage of pain.

That and everyone says your vbox is knackered mate!
