Hi guys,
I found in the Dialogys info on what the plate means in newer renaults.
However nothing about the one in R19 
Its called the Vehicle identification plate and on mine its located on top of the right headlight or so to speak. Anyone know what those numbers and stuff mean or have a list of what they can be ?
I know they include the model (like mine says L53Y) and some more info about my car. I have them all written down and i'd like to know what they mean.....any info from the experts?  |

Can't remember off the top of my head them all but they include the colour code, trim level, fabrication number and a few other bits and pieces |

Im not asking NOW about the vin code....
im asking for a breakdown of this plate:
It says in the dialogys that this info applies to plates in cars manufactured after 1996, so there must be different info on my plate |

A - manufacturer (renault)
B- EEC approval number
1 - should be on 2 lines, but VIN and chassis number
2 - vehicle weight (gross) always 0000kg's on rens
3 - train weight (gross) blank cos french lazy peeps.
4 - max permissable front axle weight
5 - max permissable rear axcle weight
the bit on the right should be the oval plate, but from top to bottom left to right
14 - model code
13 - special features
9 - country made in
6 - options and eq number
12 - factory nuber
7 - fabrication number
11/8 paintcode and additionals |
