Thanks for putting up the picture's Chris
The spec is pretty much standard, call me boring but thats just the way i like her she's rapid enough for my needs so i see no point in going mad on her, and alot of guys put body kits on etc so its nice to see one thats nearly original i think, i had a new engine from Renault put in on January 02 after the last owner blew the liners in her by using to much boost, she has got the usual K&N 57i and iv managed to get a full mint condition Scorpion exhaust system for her which i'll put on once i pull ma finger out ma bum . I fitted a voltage meter to it (did'nt realise how much power everthing uses ) and an Autometer Boost gauge to keep an eye on what the turbo is getting up to (dont want to be blowing any liners again ) She has Mintex fast road pads and 12 groove Blackdiamond discs at the front to help slow the speed of the big beast , iv just replaced the complete sunroof assembly and done a Peugeot 306 twin cooling fan conversion on her (which resulted in a new radiator as i burst it by mistake ...oooops ) she now sounds like a helicopter when the fans cut in the standard Renault twin fans are utterly crap and not reliable at all.
For the future she is getting a complete respray, total underbody waxoil, new suspension on all corners to try and tighten things up (i wish she cornered like a 1916v ) maybe a bad boy nose cone and a new set of 16" alloys for the summer days
I was a 1916v die hard fan (still am i think) but gave the 21t a go, its a cracking car, still turns heads, and the standard power on her and that torque just makes you smile from ear to ear, they are 99% perfect i think, but if you had the 1916v suspension on her and the 1916v's front seats then she would be 100%
Im in love with that 225 Megane, just look at that ass |

Yes the ph2 and ph3 front wheel 21T's are softer , But the ph1 is much better than a 19 16v. The ph1 has group N suspension as standard and your find that tha new pro racing megane has been given the same setup as the ph1. This is why you find so many ph1's in the owners club....... PERFORMANCE, HANDLING, ENGINE AND GEARBOX, were far better on the ph1. ....... Roddy. Get rid of that air box and get a better feed to that 57i. That will help a bit, "but the 57i is to small for a 21T". Then with your better air feed, get yourself some 357 injectors. Your find that the car will pull a lot quicker and rev higher through the gears. As for the fans on the 21T , my Twin Turbo has only one fan on a standard rad. Your water feed must be bad. Change the thermostat to a Megane summer one, this opens 10 degrees sooner, that will help. Flush out your system and check your pump , these engines will overheat if not looked after. If the temp goes much over 3/4, the engine should cut out until it cools down. If not its a blown head.......... . |

You get a lot of car for that. And if Roddy just got his boost up to 16psi with 357 injectors and a better air feed. That Megane 225 would'nt stand a chance......... That would be 190 - 200bhp and 225 - 235 lb/ft.... |

Cant be bothered with the hassle that you sometimes get with the injectors, coughing, not running properly, things like that, maybe one day i'll turn the boost to 16psi but im happy for now, iv heard that about the K&N only siutable up to 175bhp, but only after id went and bought it
The cooling on the car is perfect, but 1 of the original cooling fans had broke and the 2nd one was not far behind it, so i replaced them before they had the chance to cause any damage ie overheating.
I was lead to believe Andy that all the 21t's had GRP N suspension, not just the ph1
Yeah the bonnet is getting embarrasing now, it was just a speck a few months back, i was driving up to Inverness the other day and it was actually peeling off and flying over the car as i was driving lol
A ph1 better than a 1916v for handling Andy mmmmm i think id put money on the 1916v ....... will we ever find out ?? lol |

All 4 door saloon's, and nearly all of them came with leather, its harder to get one without leather ...cool or what
There is the rare Quadra (4x4) version, which im led to believe is a slightly different driving experiance to the 2wd, the Quadra is meant to be great on the twisties, there is a few in the club. Ex 21toc member Trev Robinson had the quickest 21t, it was a Quadra and in the Jan/Feb 03 issue of PGTI he was getting 0-60 in 4.90sec's he came 2nd in that event and was just beat by a R5GTT, but the 5 took there huge alloy off and Trev left his 17" on, but had done it in 4.75 in the past, im pretty sure there was one event where he was leaving Evo's behind, not bad for a car thats over 12yr old and can be bought for pennies, lovely looking car too, its still owned by a club member which is good |

Hay Roddy, that Neal had better take a look at my 21, before he makes a quote like that. Take a look at page 108, this months, Performance GTi mag.....You never make a statement like that , unless your sure............. |
