is it my 5 gtt or r all 5s like this? becoz wen i go to the petrol station 2 refill from empty (near enough) 4 talikng sake it gets to about a £4.00 and clicks (stops) and then clicks every 40p or even 15p after that., i need 2 hold it in slightly 2 get the petrol in but that takes ages as i used wait till i got paid then fling £30 worth in and b on my way but this has becum a burdin and now i only put £10 in here and there but its prob my imagination but it seems to go through petrol alot quicker that way i feel as if im always putting petrool in it, this happens no matter how much petrol is in the car ie half full?
is it that the chamber in which the petrol flows down is very thin and is splashing back on itself causing it 2 switch off
Iv bn meaning 2 ask this Q 4 a while. |

do u always use the same garage/pump? just sounds like a crap pump...but i suppose something odd like a breather being blocked could cause pressure to build up when it shouldnt in the tank when filling causing pump to cut out?
im guessing |

Some of the petrol's station's iv used do that, then the next one can be fine, i think it's more the filler nozzle's that are the problem |

hold the thing at the right angle and its not a problem.
The 16V can be an arse because its a narrow neck so you can only fit an unleaded nozzle in it. The 1.4's ph1 are ok cos its just a hole, you can throw however much you want in it. |

I had this problem when I had my Xr2i (Sorry for swearing) The prob was the petrol tank had been replaced and the pipe that went from the tank to the filler cap was twistewd, try slackening off thetank and moving the pipe |
