I know its not retro but the G/F 2016v megane has developed an annoying problem, there is a small leak of oil leaking in to the spark plug channels and over a period of time it seeps down the spark plug threads and eventually causes the car to missfire until i clean it up, i bought the rubber rocker cover from Renault and changed it, but its still doing it, although not as bad, the leak is now beside the 2nd spark plug in from the air filter side.
I did not use any gasket seal stuff when i done it, should i have ? and is this a common problem ? |

no gasket seal needed. And the oil is not going down the spark plug thread into the cylinder.
It will be the rocker cover gasket, did you tighten the bolts in the right sequence? |

Yeah, iv changed the gasket, and it did improve slightly, when i tightened the bolts i would do the top left, then bottom right and so on (if you know what i mean ) is there another way they are suppoused to be done ?? and i did not use a torque wrench either ..... |

you do up the middle set first then the outers.
Torque wrench is nice but not needed.
Its either a leaky rocker cover gasket, core plug gone (very doubtfull, even then its just splash) or you can't fill the oil up without throwing it everywhere.
Nip the bolts up a bit more. |

Its definetly not split oil, im really fussing about that type of things
I'll nip the bolts up abit more and see what happens, its defo coming in from the rocker cover though. |
