what skirts?
valvers have screws going into little plastic things in the lip on the bottom of the sill, plus some more on the top of the sill, in the door shut. |

pop the 2 caps off at each end and in there are 2 T20's, they will have rusted away if your unlucky so you need to drill the head off. Then slide the trim back and it comes off.
For the 16V sills to fit you have to drill into the top of the skirts, for a pukka job also into the side and get the clips, then the white thingies for the bottom of the sill. Chances are the bottom will be under sealed over so you need to drill through that. |

i dont know what caps you are talking about chris ? i had to remove the bottom screw on the splash shields and cut the plastic seal/screw off (there was no other way to get it out) those torx screws are a pain in the ass but i managed to cut the sides and hit them with a hammer and flat head screw driver to make them turn .
i pulled the splash shield upwards to allow some space to remove the 8mm bolt holding the front end of the skirt . it came off nice and easy ,there is another 8mm bolt on the back end but there is no need to remove the wheel at all if you have small but strong hands like i have .
once they are all off ,the front end pops out and you just slide it to the rear and the skirt is out .
now is it the same system with the 16v side skirts ??? can i just slide them on the existing white plastic bits and do the bolts up ????
mind you i do not have the skirts yet .
cutting the sides of the screws
lots of crap behind the splash shield thus extra weight on the car somebody left a spanner there ages ago ,its a quality one as well
the skirt out
