where do you people get tools from ? just need a proper(chrome vanadium) spanner and socket set and want to get a good deal really
the cheapest socket set with extensions etc i found is 30 quid from motor factors |

I buy them individually tbh, as theres only so many I use.
But the halfords gears the best I have used, I have yet to break a halfords socket, snapped plenty of Britool, snap-on and teng etc gear but halfords is all thats lasted believe it or not! |

halfords stuff is quality .
i bought a set of spanners from cash and carry and never worked properly ,they ferk the bolts and nuts right away .must be made of aluminium those spanners 
yeah i suppose i will go for the halfords stuff too,no need to lok for another cheaper alternative .the screw driver i bought from them never lets me down.  |

We use Elora sockets and Draper spanners. The only problem with the spanners is that they keep going missing.
We needed a 1/2" spanner so I went in to the autoparts place and ended up comming out with a big spanner set for £7 plus VAT!!
We don't usually buy rubbish, this was a Blackstar set, and to be fair to it we haven't managed to break one yet... |

i have bought alot of snap on stuff even tho its good its just so over priced, i normally just buy draper stuff on-line http://www.drapertools.com/ fairly good stuff for the money never had a problem with them, and they do free delivery  |

dont snap-on replace any tool that u have broken?
my socket sets (1/2" and 3/4") are of Sealey flavour. good stuff. had them for a year or 2 now. |

Halfords replace broken tools too. Simon managed to shear the end off one of those 3/8" extensions with the tapered end which allows some flexibility of the socket, by leaning on it doing up wheelbolts with it. I told him it was going to break but he wouldnt have it LOL. They replaced it no probs even though it blatantly had been abused. |

i tell thee what, got some crakcing ratchet spanners for xmas from the old man! havnt had much use out of them cos i dont want to dirty them..but they are awesome! halfords jobby i think |

oooh yeah id love my own set of those!
got to be careful with them when undoing stiff nuts/bolts to leave clearance to get the spanner off, you can end up with the spanner stuck. You cant wind it back in to make some clearance.   |

yeah, another fault, or inconvienience is that they are straight, where as ur average set of spanners curve out at the ring end so u can get them onto bolt heads and have better leverage. |

Ah, but the halfords ones do have a little hinge, so not only do they have an angled head, but it is adjustable too! GENIUS! |

I use a Master Grip socket seat from Costco and Halfords ratchet spanners
Halfords are really good for tools, brake it take it back...well cool |
