Its the family you feel for, 2 years old, going with his brother to the chip shop! he wasn't even old enough to have made mistakes yet. |

Yeah I heard this on the radio, makes me sick.
He'll get a £250 fine and 150 hours community service no doubt, that'll sort him out.
I can say for sure that if someone did something like that to my little brother, or any member of my family, their own life would be forfeit. |

he'll get more than that if hes the guilty party.
I got 150 hrs comm service and a £350 fine for 'talking' to another motorist.
He'll prob get 2/3 years, no way he'll get life. 8 year sentence outside possibility out in 5 for good behaviour. |

The scottish law systems like any other is crap, I know too much about it.
But its neither fair or just. |

I wasnt seriously suggesting he would get community service, just pointing out that the punishment rarely fits the crime in our judicial system. |

Well he'll got to the high court anyway, so that means he'll either get over 3 years or aquited.
Scottish court system
county/district court, 60 days imprisonment, or fine up to £500
Sherrif court 3 months imprisonment up to £1000 fine
Sherrif and Jury court up to 3 years imprisonment and £1000
High court unlimited time and unlimited fine.
The law system comes down heaviest on the good side.
For example, go out do 120mph on a deserted motorway, 500quid fine, 150 hrs comm service, ban. Normal guy with job and kids etc.
Junkie/alcoholic reprobate, go out break an elderly womans hip and disslocate her shoulder as you steal her bag for les than £5 in change. Aquited if you admit doing it or 80 hrs comm service no fine. |
