okies, sorting out the niggles on my PH2 and as usual the haynes manual is less than useful . . .
right, on the Ph2's the electric window switches are up by the door handles, they are meant to light up, mine don't but they do operate the windows fine, on the dash, only the rear foglight switch and clock light up, the others don't but they all perform thier functions, like heated rear screen works, hazzards work, front fogs work, central locking switch works etc.
Cig lighter also has no power and does not light up.
now from what i can see in the haynes is that those interior switches are lighted from the sidelight circuit, which means the RH side lamps fuse controls them, however the sidelights are fine, rear lights are fine and the indicators on the dash to say lights are on, fogs are on etc all work.
There is no bulbs out as i have taken the working lighted switches from my PH1 and tried them on the PH2, no lights.
There are no blown fuses in the fuse box.
Anyone got a clue ?
Thanks. |

ph1 switches don't work in a ph2. Ask ben after his blowing fuses ahoy adventure trying to fit ph2 windows switches to his ph1.
The bulbs in the switches are blown. |

bulbs are fine, checked them, removed each switch and tested them on a PSU at work.
And yes the PH2 electric window switches dont work on a PH1 and vice versa but all the others do, central locking switch, heated rear window, hazzards, front and rear fogs all exchange happily between my ph1 and ph2
has to be a dodgy connection somewhere in there but god knows where. |

sounds like a cut wire tbh, the ciggy lighter light gets its feed from the clock, the wire then goes down, if the dash has been off it can break, also it can get caught in the heater controls. |

Cut wire it is to the cig lighter!
looks like somewhere down the line it had something else wired in under the dash as there is a scotchlock connector in the cig lighter feed thats just been cut.
still no switch lights at the mo or leccy window switch lights, will continue digging around.
ok some of the 19's had heated seats, i don't have the switches for them in the console (down by the gear shift) but there is a wireing harness coming up from under the carpet to under each seat ??? |
