I think i may have hopefully found the problem to my wonky fans, attached to the twin cooling fans loom there is a plug, it has 3 black wires going in to it (2 thick and 1 thin) this then plugs onto a female plug attached to the car, if i wiggle this plug about the fans will come on/off, sometimes only 1 fan will come on then suddenly the 2 will come on then they will stop ......i checked inside the female end and it was corroded badly, iv clean the connections the best i can but they still look abit minging to be honest,
Does anybody know what this plug is ? .....im thinking it may be the earths but im not sure |

did you change the rest of the loom?
Chop the plug off and fit new connectors. |

I stripped the loom off the car and the girlfriends father who is switched on when it comes to the old wiring game sat down and picked away at the loom and came to the conclusion that the loom is handling the power fine, its the dodgy corroded connection's and water getting into the relays thats the problem, so iv undone all the scotchblock connectors and soldered instead, we also have extended the loom so that now all the relays and connections are tucked away on the left side of the car away from the front grills, but now this dodgy plug has made itself known so im gonna have to cut it off and replace it. |
