Have just got meself a set of 4 brand new Toyo Proxe T1-S's, and got me wheels balanced & tracking done etc. My tracking was 4mm out......and boy is there a difference now! It's like driving on silk compared to before...it's kinda strange with no constant rattle in the steering wheel.....but I'm sure I'll get used to it! Here are the beasts....
Pretty ain't they! One thing tho.....I'm sure you're all used to me asking daft questions by now lol, so here's another one......do tyres need any length of time to 'bed in'? Or should they be good from the word go? They seem grippy in the sense of they don't wheel spin as much as me old tyres, and also I can brake much harder without lockin up etc........but going round corners is just.......weird. On old tyres the car used to feel really solid on the road like.....but now it feels like I'm riding high on a few air coushins lol. Maybe cuz I'm just not used to feeling of new tyres? Pressures are all right before u ask. So I dunno. Was just comin home from havin 'em fitted and takin a corner that I can usually take no bother.......and wahey I nearly didn't get round it which was a bit un-nerving! |

They cost me £171.55 for set of 4, fitted, with new valves, all wheels balanced, and my tracking done. Legend I thought! |

I got 'em from Tenby Tyres, my local tyre place. They're something like £31.40 per tyre on mytyres.co.uk, and Tenby Tyres were £34 a tyre.....and so I got a better deal buying 'em from the place I was gonna be gettin 'em fitted I reckon. Rather than buying 'em off net and then goin and gettin 'em fitted. Dunno really! But yeah, phoned 'em up, asked for some Toyo Proxes, next day they had 'em in, took the car down there, about 20 mins to stick 'em on and do tracking.....Legend |
