ok then, some one suggested to me just to drop the subframe? would this any easier or is there more work?
what are the pros and cons of this method? |
Its easier to do but in my opinion if you're planning on refitting the engine its a bit messier |

Right, because im collectong a replacement engine next weekend, because my one packed up, i think i'll just borrow the engine hoist from work. hoist it out and put the new one in. is there anything i should change while the engine is out to make life easier on the long run? i.e steering rack bushes?
many thanks |

new clutch would be a good idea, thoroughly inspect all the brake lines round the back of the bay, maybe jetwash the bay and subframe. Check/replace steering rack gaiters.
Obviously on the engine itself you can replace the cambelt if its time or nearly time, aux belt etc while its out, very easy. |
