Lads.
Couple of problems with the beast.
First - engine cuts out almost every other time it is driven, whether engine hot or cold, at high speed or idle - gets a bit nervy! Had this problem about a year ago, but a good hard thrashing on the motorway for three hours seemed to cure it! But its backHas even been out through Renault diagnostics to no joy. Of course, would never cut out when given to mechanic. 
Second - grating noise now from given off every time clutch pedal depressed.
Any ideas on the above?!

First one i wouldn't know check everything that's in the knowledge base 
Second, sounds like the release bearing f*cked (druklager in dutch  ) |

knowledge base for idle control valve cleaning and TB cleaning.
But you may have other issues invloving the crappy renault wiring.
Remove the battery and make sort otu the earths behind it, look in the laguna progress report for pics.
the bearing may be away or the clutch/cover may be damaged |
