Can't seem to find a board so laptop it is Sad

Only really need a lappy for the car so i'll prolly just pick up a s/h one somewhere

Been offered one of these for about 300 of your quids, one yr old and upgraded to 512mb ram. non dodgy too which woould be a novelty Very Happy

Hmm i missed this thread Sad bad thing!! As I know 100000 times more about computer and laptops then about cars Very Happy Heating problem or video memory bad. If its the first option which you can find out if it's using integrated(shared) memory by running memtest86+ then use some cooling paste in the main vid chip or check te fans for dust/dirt being built up. If it's the second the you've got a problem either change memory if loose module when not change mainboard.

I sit my laptop on top of a folder to stop it overheating Smile. I'd say Crucial are good for memory, had some from them and haven't had any probs with it in the about 2 years I've had it. Every techie person I know also uses Crucial almost exclusively for memory.
