just trying to flush it properly and put new coolant in etc.
while running it just with water today ,i noticed this leak
water drops every 3 seconds from that bolt , and also water is coming from the exhaust . whats this all about ????
and after idling for 10 mins with the heater on full whack ,here is where the temp gauge comes up to
is this looking about right ????
also haynes says the coolant system capacity is about 7 litres on a 16v ,is this right ? i did it with about 5 litres ?? a big mistake if it is |

that's your rear exhaust clamp, no coolant sysem pipes round there. Is probably just condensation/ water gathered in exhaust being splashes about and seeping through. as for temp gauge that seems fine, turn heaters off as they conduct heat from the engine and help disperse heat quicker. that's why if you have overheating problems you should keep the heaters up if you need to drive the car. |

id say the gauge looks wrong..after ten mins it doesnt seemed to have moved. ...and yeah turn ur heaters off...if anything that will make the thing take much longer to warm up...
think about it....to get heat in the cabin, air is blown over the matrix....bit like a radiator....ie takingheat from the coolant...so its like having a second rad....esp when u got the blowers cooling it down as best they can |

and yes i know it cools down the engine a tad when u have the heater on full whack ,thats why i mentioned it in the first place |
