The below picture is the rear shock off the lowering kit I had fitted on my cordoba for all of 200 miles.
The silver metal bit slides own and rests on the blue ring an then the spring sits on this. However to adjust the ride heigh you must prise open the metal ring (its kinda springy metal but I sense you do deform it slightly by doing so) an then slot it one of the other grooves. It must only sit in a few mm.
The question is, is this safe? It looks to me as if it could fail quite easily should the car go over a big bump or similar? Or is this perfectly safe?
Personally had I kept the kit on I'd want a blob of weld to hold it in place secure.
Opnions?

as i said on MSN, thats well dodgy if you have to actually deform the metal ring to move it, rather than springing back into place. Even then it would be dodgy IMO. |

It has a certan amount of spring to it - in as far as it took some needle nose plyers and a screwdriver to wedge it off however i felt once it had moved it didn't spring back as strong.
The springs and shocks cost me £120 including delivery from germany, but the ride was (unsurprisingly) rock solid - ruble strips felt like speed bumps, almost no play in them at all, wouldn't be so bad in a R19 but the Seat has quite firm seats! |

if that came from germany no way is it TUV approved!
If the silver seat slid over the ring and kept it in place then it wouldn't be so bad but it'd still be crap.
e-bay it and let someone else die. |
