how many cars can be sold a year before the tax man gets hold of you? someone at work has said if you sell more than 5 then u are liable for tax? is that right? |

Im not sure on numbers, i've been buying and selling a few for the last couple of years with my girlf's dad. The first year we must've only had about 6 - 8 cars but didn't declare anything. But last year we had around 20, which we did declare, but tax bill was very low as we claimed back for things such as trade plates and trade insurance policy. If you're only buying a few, try to get hold of the complete V5 from the seller, that way you don't register yourself as an owner, or send of the red section for trade use, then they shouldn't trace you! |
