I mean i know now the RSi is multipoint injection
i know the Rsi had 5 spoke alloys............also the front and rear bumper was different? but what was different? anyone got a pic of a RSi and RT to compare? also know about the sideskirts.
Whats the best plan to smarten a RT up then? obviously i dont want anything boy racer, no bodykits, but id be intrested in some suttle stuff |

RSi bumper on ebay
clio RT on ebay
i just dont see much the difference in bumper.........yet ive read people say the RSi bumpers look better than the RT
edit - only difference i can spot is that its cut away at the side of the fogs on the RT and not on the RSi |

I thought they were the same cosmeticly apart from a rear boot spoiler, sideskirts and rear disck brakes. Also a different backbox.
Ways to make an RT smarter? Yours is a 1.8 so 5dr right?
Well you could start by getting some nice alloys, lowering the car a reasonable amount onto said alloys, trying to find some RSi or Baccara sideskirts (think Rocking Horse shit) and fit them.
Erm seeing as it's 5dr, colour code the handles. Get clear front fog lights. Valver/Rsi spoiler.
Basicly add all the little things that make the sporty models sporty |

Cheers for the reply.........
Ive heard the RSi skirts (well read on here) that theyre hard to get, so i dont think ill be able to afford them what other options are there? any that can be taken off another car?
your correct mines the 5door. I was thinking putting 15's on at some point and lowering it 35mm as i dont really have the budget for all new shockers.
Ill colour code the bump strips and handles and the mirrors. Or do you think all that would be too much?
Wheres the best place to get the rear spoiler then? I cant seem to see much on ebay |

Nah, just because they are rare, doesn't mean they are always expensive. They go for as little as £15 to £120, just depends where you look.
Best place to get them is by phoning up all your local scrap yards or just pop down and have a look.
RSi spoiler can also be had from a scrapper, also there usualy seem to be a few floating around Ebay. Just becuase they aren't there today, doesn't mean they won't be tommorow.
Yeah lowering 35mm is no problem. I've lowered mine that much and haven't had any problems. Front springs are in the region of £40 (then you need to fit them. Not too hard if you have a bit of time and tools) and the torsion bar you can do yourself.
Imo, I find bump strips being colour coded just turn the car into a one colour mess. Do the handles and backs of mirrors, maybe your grill and the plastic under your front lights, but don't do much more than that. |

hey,
yeah ill be doing everything myself, im restoring a '63 Mini cooper so should be a doddle, only the mechanical things do seem rather tight!
I'll take your advice on the colour coding, will do the mirrors and grill and the things under the head lights, and get some back to black on the bump strips.
Just need to save up for some wheels, although that might not be till the tyres are shagged
If i can find a RSi in a yard then i might as well get the head, loom and ECU and throttle body off it |

rsi had a bigger sopoiler and skirts than the 16v did, dunno why!
best mods are the ph2 rear lights and the boot strip, brings the ph1 up to date and de-badges it as well! |
