am I right or am I wrong thats its perfectly possible to swap over (ghost) a hard drive change its letter from h or whatever to C so it boots from it without havign to re-install every ferking thing again.
Cos thats whats happened to this ferkign thing and I ain;t happy. |

Yes.
I set my PC up exactly how I wanted it with all the applications and etc I needed and copied it onto a DVD so when it all goes tits up its easy to swap it over in dos.
Ask Huw tho, he does PC's for a living. |

Aye, we ghost a lot of stuff in work. should be possible to ghost one drive completley to another, simple stuff  |

thats what I trhough but when we ghosted it it was saved as drive H etc, I told him you can change the drive letter to c so it will boot from it but he argued the toss now th epc is away tae feck |

Sometimes it wont boot from the new drive after you've cloned it, on occasion we've have to use commands like fix/mbr from the XP/2k recovery console to get it to boot from it. |

I've just had to run the recovery CDs on mine  Worst thing is that it's only til I get the XP Pro disc again on Wednesday  B***ard thing went tit's up last Wednesday, was rebuilt on Thursday and decided to Blue Screen today  God I hate computers! 
When I get it all back up to scratch I will take a ghost image of it this time!!!! And I will back up my data properly and regularly |
