What's this all about then? Just pulled up at the lights behind a relatively new Corsa with a 'Twinport' badge underneath?

Assume it means there are two inlet ports per cylinder, suppose it helps by increasing turbulence and mixing in the cylinder?

Just reading the post and seeing chris his reply already gives me a good laugh ... In holland we would call him a "droogkloot" which is a positive word!!

it something to do with efficiency. i think somethig along the lines of one inlet valve can be controlled independantly to the other...

a bit like one of the variations of VTEC, on inlet valve for low, efficient rpm, then the other kicks in for higher more power rpm. i-VTEC i thnk

the vtec system has a high lift lobes built into the cam, at certain revs, the set of follwers that are on the high lift lobes, lock into the regular followers, and then its all high lift

basically its just like what toyota has been doing since the 80's.

Its a butterfly that closes off half the port at low revs to get bettwer swirl at low rpm's to help power.

Thing is the donkeys of toyo is better.

aye thats std VTEC there is also i-VTEC and VTEC-E

in fact i think i got it wrong....VTEC-E is the one that operated the two inlets independantly...VTEC-i has variable cam timing as well as VTEC-E

aye from that tiny pic it appears to be closing off one port for economic driving.
