... which makes it a bit of a bugger for the wife to learn to drive in it!
All gears are working, but i think whatever mechanism you pull up to select reverse has snapped, as there's nothing to stop reverse being selected (fun at junctions )
I've pulled the gearstick boot out of the way and the cable still goes down the front of the stick, but i haven't got under it to see whats busted.
Is this a big job? Or just a matter of popping something back into place (i'm guesing something has snapped myself, but i'll be hapy if i'm wrong )

its out of alignemnt.
Re-adjust it.
To do this get under loosen the piunch bolt and rotate the bar a bit.
The cable etc is not the problem only the adjustment. |

Brilliant cheers, that sorted it, lot easier than expected (apart from 1st time i did it, i didn't bother checking and found myself without reverse:))
Not bad then, L-reg Clio 1.2 in nearly mint condition, new tyres, new back box, needed 40 quid of work for the MOT, only paid £100 for the car cos the bloke thought the gearbox was on the way out |
