righty how many of you have actually ever had a small bearing front carrier? The 65mm bearing one.
Normal size I have found on both clios and 19' sis the 72mm bearing carrier.
Well today I have my 1st 65mm carrier.
Its the hub from the red 19.
Looks quite strange. Looks stronger tbh! Castings a good bit thicker around the bearing. |

someone must have replaced a front wheel bearing!
This is the first out of ohh probably 50 that I have done
the hub flange is a different size as well to fit in the bearing.
Machined about 3mm off it. |

well even if they have replaced a bearing, what are the chances they would be able to tell the difference between a 72mm bearing and a 65mm bearing without measuring it, which of course they would have no reason to do.
So if the bearing is smaller, the hub may be stronger, but surely the bearing itself is a bit weaker and wears out quicker? |

need to measure it to get the right bearing.
thats what I was thinking but the ford wrc boys dropped from a bigger bearing to a smaller one due to wear problems.
They use ceramic efforts though. |

I can honestly say I've never had to change the bearings on the front of my TD in the 2 and a bit years I've had it... |

ive changed my frts...twice in 5 yrs, the last set fro gsf only lasting about1-2 yrs.
but cant say ive checked...i do think once i remember asking for the larger one tho. |

Both front ones on mine have been changed but wouldn't know the size, Dad did 'em. |
