The 1.6 16v was introduced in May 1998 I think but I'm not sure when they face lifted it with the one piece headlamps / inidactors and orange rear lights.
Got your header tank cap today, cheers mate, tho its brown and the other one was blue? Nay bother tho. |

Blue tank cap is the right valver one, brown is for 1.4s etc.
Only the facelifted lags had the 1.6/1.8 16v lumps |

You asked me the last time for a brown cap Addie! I have the mrs as a witness.
Well on RSc they said it was only 100bhp and used in the bug eyed clios, so its cack so I will not bother. I don't need another car to chop up anyway. |

1.6 16v is 110bhp, used in the lags and clio II's. Not a bad lump really but not torquey emgough for the lag |

well there was a thought about sticking the lump into a ph1 19 or old clio.
not worth the effort and I don't have the cash at the mo. If he says I can have the engine and not the whole car I will have it. |

the K4M is a nice engine, but the Laguna is a bit too heavy for it and the engine desperately needs a 6th gear. it already revs 5k at 160 kph and it's supposed to go 195 kph - haven't tested that yet.
as for conversions, a bloke I got to know over the web has done this with a Clio. here's the link:

Chris, how many cars have you got at the last count? Is the original Energy still going? What was the final mileage of the beast? |

I personally have 3 cars in my name, the blue energy, the blue chamade and georges old white chamade (ohh did I let that last one slip???).
The energy was at 205k miles before it was stuffed into the rear of a taxi. Still starts and runs and drives but its bent. |

Getted for ya about your 19, I've heard that much about it I think i've owned it for years.
I know i felt well pissed off when i sold my 19 Energy to my mate at work who promptly wrote it off in two months. I'd loved that car and kept it at its optimum working life (f reg to boot) and he spunks it all up the wall in two months. |
