twat the drum with a hammer, round the bit where the shoes run the otherside, and it should free off. |

fuck this shit ,i did not think it would be this hard to change brake shoes .
got myself a set for 5quid yesterday ,i have been told they do fit the r19 even though it says r5 and r21 fitment on the box |

I took mine in a compared them with the one's the guy gave me.
Anyway, any tips on making sure the adjuster mech works right? I've chucked it all back together, dont think i'd got the adjuster right though, got lots of pedal travel and looking in the haynes i might have the 'adjuster spring components' fitted upsidedown. Im assuming this matters a fair deal. |

yes it does.
Did you take the adjuster out then make sure the wheel was free to go up and down the threaded bit?
I normally manually adjust it at first, just so the drum just clears, the self adjuster seems happier to make small adjustments because you don't need to pump it a million times to get the wheel round enough times. |

right, lubed up the wheel and changed the adjusters around, just need to test now. |
