As u all are awar nitrous kits give anything form 25 bhp to 1000bhp or even more!!
I have been think of this and cos i use nitrous oxide @ work alot i can get it free.
Nitrous kits injected it into the engine right? So why cant i fill a can and have it spray it around the air filter? .. Surely it would suck it in to give me a few extra bhp? I have designed a prototype for my valver that will pump it around the air filter but before i try it i wanted to hear your views etc. AND maybe there is some one out there that knows abit more about it than me,,,... Will it hurt my valver in any way? etc...
I have it on a regulater so i can control how much i spray out etc.
Regards
Mike (the maybe insane) |

Wouldn't spraying NOS around your engine bay just be dangerous?? It would be like if you had a 'proper' NOS system, but with a leak? Quite a big leak? lol.
Disclaimer: I have no feckin idea what I am talking about, I am just bored so I thought I would write something here |

it will work, it does make a difference but you can and will run lean though, obviously if you have nitrous going directly into the manifold its gonna run lean, around the air filter or even the air filter pipe you should be ok.
I used an old persons oxygen tank in one of my old hatches to do the same. |

If you want to spray do you have any idea how much nitro will go in your engine?
If you`ll just spray nitro that means that you can add only 25HP.(dry sistem)
I suggest you to buy a complet kit from NX or NOS and than you can add 100HP on 2.0 16v engine. |

Don't just spray it in there without more fuel. You blow it up. Alltho' round the air filter might work. But if you can get it for nowt. Why not get a proper system fitted ?.
BTW air as 21% oxygen
Nos as 33%. |

just spraying it in there, or around the filter is just two different ways to getting it in.
either way, it is piss easy to knock up a proper working system.
www.nitrous.info for everything you ever needed to know about n20 systems. |

so you both have extensive experience with nitrous oxide set ups?
I do, his idea is just fine, he might get ohh 5 more hroses, its not being bleed directly into the manifold and thus run the risk of going bang.
I never got technical cos I couldn't be arsed, fed up of telling muppets why they need a bottle warnmer etc. |
