Apologies if this has been asked before but I have searched the forums and found articles relating to the Megane, Laguna etc but none of which match my problem in full
I have recently purchased a 1995 R19 CAB, When looking to by the car it would not start I did some reading and found that it had an immobiler and the batteries in the Plip were flat (no red Light when pushing button) I changed the batteries and central locking worked and it started first time, drove the care home parked up but the next morning the plip did not work I had used the thicker 2032 batteries which had pushed the plip apart overnight I fitted the correct 2016 batteries plip lights up but no central locking or immobiliser disabling.
After a lengthy debate with my local renault dealer they eventually advised me how to disable the immobiliser with the button on the end of the wiper stalk and the throttle pedal. This disabled the immobiliser no problem and I asked whether the plip needs re-syncing as the batteries were not fitted overnight, They advised that plip on this car never needs re-syncing and the problem must lie elseware. So down to my question at last.. Does this plip indeed require re-syncing? if not any sugestions as to the problem (receiver is dry no water ingress) and how do you enable the immobiliser / central locking again? I was told that I would have to disable the immobiliser every time I wanted to start it but it apears to be permenantly disabled. Thanks in advance, Great site |

Thanks for the reponses, I have checked the Plip with a camera phone and it emitts a strong pulse, so it appears to be functioning. Would the central locing still work if the immobiliser was disabled? Thanks for the help |
