Chris , great article , the only problem I'm going prematurely grey trying to resynch the missus plip key.Renault have already charged me 35 euro for doing this a year ago , and over my dead body am I going to fork out again for a "shite" renault immobiliser system ! .
Here is the story up to this, I have entered the immobiliser code ,no probs there, light goes off comes on steady red for about 30 secs. I remove the Key during this 30 sec period while light is on and continously press the central locking , the car will only lock but not unlock as it should do in the article.
Any advice would be great
Am I doing this correctly ? |

I assume you are pressing the keys button and not touching the actuall button on the dash?
If it locks but won;t unlock I would say you have a problem with the key.
I have a similar problem, key only works on average twice per 20 or so presses.
easy way to check is with digi/camera phone camera, look into the key and plip it you should see it light up. |

Chris , I had checked out the key using the digicamcorder on nightvision and there is a beam being emitted.
I think the problem is , after I disable the immobiliser the light goes on for a few secs , say about 5 then goes off and then comes back as a steady red for about 30 secs. Now while the light is red , I remove the key,the red light goes off and then I depress the central locking button expecting the the car to lock and then unlock. Now the car only locks ,doesn't unlock again . tried then pliping but no joy. Am I following the procedure correctly |
