Hi guys an gals, Im after a cam shaft and crank shaft locking kit for my 1.6 16v megane coupe. Ive seen one made by Sealey and its £50.75, seen others at £80+, so was wondering if any one has used this kit by sealey and is it good quality or would it be better to go for a more expensive one. We have all done it in the past, tried to save a few quid but end up paying twice. Let me know what you think.

For £50-£80 i would just bodge it like i normally do. Use an old cambelt and a small G-cramp or something.
Theres always a way to bodge.... |

It contains a D shaped cam shaft locking tool and a crank shaft/TDC locking pin. |

I dont mind cutting corners to save money but some times you have to weigh up the cost's of the end result if things should go pear shaped. As there are no keyways on any of the pulleys I think its safer to get the kit. |

eventually turned up here! eh, coupe club, rsc and now here! lol
The 50 quid s4ealey kit will do the job, did jay on RSC get you a renault price for it?
You can do it without the kit but its not worth the risk especially if you are new to this sort of thing.
I still don't understand why they didn't just key the crank and leave the cams unkeyed like the ford druatec/zetecs! |

Yes chris, I get all over the show when i have to  . Jay has'nt got back with a price yet but Im sure he will. Ive done quite a few cam belt changes but this is the first keyless one so I am a little cautious. I just need to get a kit at the best price.
