im going to ditch the poxy ABS out of the chammy, it is decided.
Is it just a case of buying a new master cylinder and a brake hose kit? |

you need the pedal box (incl servo), master cyl and a pipe kit if its the bendix set up. The bosch on eis more a lin in the system that can be removed and bypassed though. |

Mine is bosch.
So do i not even need a new master cylinder then? Just pull out the ABS bits and replace with new pieces of brake pipe?
Id probably just renew all the rigid brake lines while im at it anyway tbh |

yes thats all you should have to do.
Now since its been a while, its nto really btu I have worked on many newer rens lately so can;t recall the master cyl might only have 3 outputs, if it does then you will need to fit a T piece and bend the pipes to suit as 1 output goes to the rear.
get me a pic of it and I can tell ye for sure, pic of the master cyl area and bosch modulator. |

Hmm, new master cylinder is £27.50 from GSF, might as well just replace it with new.
Only question left then is:
Does a standard non-ABS master cylinder fit to a Bosch ABS-equipped car's pedal box? Do I need to change the reservoir? |

pedal box is the same but its easier if gettign 2nd hand bits to get the whole pedal box as you then have the servo and master cyl attached to it!
The pedal box mountos the the bulhead, the servo and its rod then mates to the pedal box and pedal.
The master cyl attaches to the serov and its rod engages in a cup on the end of the rod that goes to the brake pedal.
through memory and now looking at the crap haynes which only hasa diagram the bosch set up uses a stock servo but a 2 output master cylinder. Wiuth would utilise the right resoivoir.
If thats the case then its not a problem, all that needs doing is the ABS pump/modulator remove and then 2 T pieces inserted where it lived. Then just remove the ABS ECU, and wiring. |

OK, thats cool then
But would it not be better to have the proper 4 output master cylinder rather than T piecing 2 outputs? |

well T piecing it is the same way of doing it as the 4 output.
The master cyl is twin piston, so the 4 lines come from the 2 pistons anyway!
If you can't get T pieces get the 4 output ones and stick a bleed nipple in the spare hole, if your clever this way when you do it you only need to bleed it at the adaptor! |
