reset the trip comp at the mileage reset button, twist it closckwise.
the oil pressure gauge thing is common, either a dodgy connection to it or the senders slightly clogged with old oil. |

oil will be changed asap anyway ,i got a halfords filter and comma oil for the job
just done the resetting now ,it shall work fine ,cheers
thought the oil gauge madness might be related to loose rocker bolts so i checked ,there was some oil by the side of the plug wells and i tightened the bolts
snapped one of them due to using "tight as feck" torque settings
whats going to happen there? |

i got about 1cm long threads left on the bolt if you know what i mean . the rest is in the head. can i drill the fecker out or would that damage the head ?
feck this ,problems allready started
on the way to work
-speedometer stopped working (i know what it is)
-feeling like one of the engine mounts are shot
-cant rev it up and trash due to shakey steering
-the revs go down to 500 when i try to take off in 1st gear
joy ohh joy |

It don't sound like a good idea to be driling the head whilst its still on??
can you not just take off the rocker and get some grips in the thread that is still showing? |

dont really want to get the rocker cover again tbh but will if it pisses oil through that bolt
i also got paranoid about this bonnet vent crap , i have seen traces of water on the rocker cover itself not inside the plug wells luckily .i should have bought that tungy grey bonnet of that ph1 1.4 and swapped it over |

all you need is a little tray to divert any water that drips out of the vent onto the exhaust manifold...someone somewhere will have apic of what i mean. |

thats galvanised sheet steel from b&Q. cost me 4 quid or something for it.
The plastic clips were shite though. I binned them cut 2 slots in it and then jubilee clipped it to the strut brace.
I also removed the bad stickers from the strut brace as well.
I shoudl really make a decent one with rounded edges etc.
leave the bolt alone, if it leaks sealant. |

have the tracking sorted and fitted new tyres on wheels and have them balanced . done a few miles on the m4 after ,there is a big difference obviously as the tracking was quite a bit out (been told by the guy in the garage)
but there is still a little shakey on the steering wheel and a bit of a pulling action to the left especially right after changing gears. getting into 1st-2nd and 3rd is a bit tricky 1 out of ten times and remember the gearbox spitting the 2gear a few times .
possible rear engine mount that makes me think .also looking from the front of the car to the engine the left back handside seems to be a bit closer to the heatshield . that side of the heatshield is brown due to the extra heat caused by the short distance.
got to work today wanted to shut the drivers window ,the window doesnt want to play which was working perfectly fine a minute a go.
tried the passengers side works perfectly ,swapped the switches drivers side not playing at all . had to feckin duck tape the whole window in the end ,not happy
while i was there tried to start the engine up again just to check it will start up ,no feckin way
it wont the starter wants to turn but the battery dont seem to power it up .
had to jump start it with the help of a friend .
FECKIN MARVELLOUS DAY I AM HAVING TODAY !!!
still at work and waiting for it to chuck it down in a minute and get all the duck tape of the bloody window so that i can drive(hopefully) home sitting on my beatifull black soaking wet leather seats
whats next |
