this might sound like a silly question but is it possible to fit AC to a 1993 r19 16v if i got the parts from another r19 16v

?

if you can find one with Aircon then yes but you will need a specialist to come out de-gas the other 19's gear then swap everything over and replace a few things then get it charged back up.

it will cost a fair bit as well and you will need to re-wire a few things, easiest to buy the other 19, and swap the dashes and engine looms over etc.

if you get all the parts you could fabricate a loom to switch on the compressor and cooling fans. You would also need to wire in the pressure sensor. only trouble with this way is that there would be no connection to injection so you might get engine stalling at junctions with the air con on. you could wire in a switch of some kind that would cut out the compressor if you press the clutch to prevent stalling at junctions etc.

Jay the engine stalling ain't a problem, the power steering switch it used on the a/c cars. The ps switch was only used on the earlier cars and the later cars have the wire in the loom but switch on the pipe.

Belt drive

The A/C Compressor takes up the place of the power steering pump.

So you will need to find an electric power steering pump + bracket to fit it, Air filter ect.
