Im seriously thinking about getting cctv. Last night the local tossers ripped off the coping stones off my wall an smashed em , in th past they have screw drivered tyres on my daughters car, ripped off wing mirrors etc, etc. And it always gets worse as the nights get longer. So im looking for some advice as to what I need for a night vision camera. Ive looked on ebay but to be honest i aint got a clue as to what is good and what is crap. Basically I need to view a distance of 20 to 30 feet. There is a street light right across the road from me so there is background lighting. Anyone got any experience in this stuff. |

Believe me, I under stand how you feel. Would'nt you just like to get hold of the b'stards and give them a going over, an then get locked and end up being the guilty party. Thats BRITISH JUSTICE |

Even if you have cctv, you have to by law, have stickers in your windows to tell the crim that he/she is being watched. If you dont display the warning signs you cant use the video as evidence.

like I said on similar discussions on RSC if you get cameras you have to make sure you have plenty of signs saying so, if you don't even if you have them on camera etc the case will be dropped unless you want to get charged.
Also cctv footage is rarely accepted as evidence.
Nothign you can do, its a joke.
My advice leave this shite country and move somewhere better. |

I have a colour cctv camera, I've not set it up yet got it for £30 on Ebay. I'm also considering using my video camera as one coz it's got night vision. Don't need it just now coz my car's not sitting outside to get vandalised
We do use one to keep an eye on the wee fella in his bedroom which is why I got the colour one but his dad can't be bothered rewiring for the new one so the b&w is staying put. It's ok even in low light...think it would be good enough for evidence. |
