Background: My parents own a megane and a laguna, the laguna being a W Reg RT 1.6 16V with about 36,000 on the clock.
My stepdad wants rid of the laguna as he wants another motorbike.
They have given me first refusual on it.
what are the bad points on the car, common faults, things to look out for on them etc ?
Its very clean and tidy, no signs of rust, no dings, no dents, missing its locking petrol cap cos my stepdad left it on a pump lol. engine looks clean, no smoke, no weird noises, suspension is ok as is the PAS.
Interior is in good condition too, nothing special, standard cloth with standard cd player and fuel comp.
Its also had all its scheduled services.
I've been driving it around the last week cos of not having the use of my ph2 (the chamade is now tucked away in the parents garage and there it will stay for the forseeable future).
pic of the beast.
my stepdad wants £2000 for it but i can pay him like £100 a month for it.
what u lot reckon? at least its a reliable (hopefully) backup for the 19. |

usual renault bits really key blip can fail I've had 4 lagunas of different types and ive had 2 major failuresl 1 the ECU on a 1.8 rt but thats just one of those things and 2, 2.2 rt diesel the gearbox failed still that was a company one so I didn't care anyway. In general they are reliable comfy roomy and reasonably cheap to run I like them. |

aside from it beign slow bits are dear, nice motors though.
Also theres no lockign fuel cap, get down the scrappies and get another one.
2 grands steep, old shape lags even the V6's right up to the new sghape at most get about 1500quid.
Dear on parts, insurance and its image pull the price right down, same with the safrane. |

the release for it if the central lockign buggers up is inside the boot where you pop the lights out.
