just sell the thing, it happens all the time. ringed cars also are not illegal.
Another forum I'm on guy has a rs500, it was nicked and the plates etc all removed, so its now on a Q p[late but not registered as a rs500, the glue marks fromt he badges etc are all there.
Its now bright yellow! |

becuase its not. Well it depends on whgat you class as ringed, cut and shuts are perfectly legal and can be sold by dealers.
Its a very grey area.
But I could go out buy 2 19's chop em up weld em together pick which cars details I wanna use, get it mot'd then taxed and sell it all legally.
Thast a 'ringed' car. |

Yea, however I mean more "Stolen" or false identity. They arn't legal and therefor are a dodgy thing to be trying to sell. Find out what you've got first then make a descision, that's the smartest thing to do. Unless he's going to break it? |

The original car that you have could have been a write off, cat A or something and someone could have repaired it but the only way to get it back on the road would be to nick another cars identity.
Or it could be stolen and 'turned into' another G plate 205 and made to look normal.
Sounds dodgy.... shame, I actually saw that without seeing it on here and thought it was a nice car. How much do you want |

would be good to find out the history, surely tracing 25 cars cant be that hard, especially if there are still some on the road. What about contacting Peugeot and getting someone to come and inspect the car?, worth it for a shot at close to 10k |

Well i did in fact end up selling the 205 this weekend to a guy who is going to try and get it re registered on a Q plate. Failing that he is going to break it up for spares. To be honest, i just wanted rid of the damn thing after all the greif ive had with it. With regard to trying to trace all the other 1 fm's, a guy on a 205 forum is trying to do that, so far he has come up with 8 (well, 9 now) so i would guess it not as easy as it first appears. And the price i got for my lovely car.....£270 quid, what a pisser! |

Thanks Addie. Glad i know that now! In my opinion it wasnt worth a lot more than that given its history unless you were gonna break it for spares and if you were thinking about doing that you can pick up 'spares or repair' 205's for around that figure all day long. Chamades aint really my thing, much prefer the hatch but have is there any pictures anywhere on the forum? Wouldnt mind having a look. |
