right, got the car started today, all 5 forward gears engage and drive but i simply can not get the box into reverse with the engine running or not.
the gear selector has been disconnected from the remote linkage during the engine swap over, does it have to put into any specific gear when you disconnect it / connect it back up again?
reverse gear worked fine before the engine change over. |

needs tightening up, i had exactly the same with mine, no reverse, just kept going into 1st, tightened it up a wee bit more, and sorted. |

go under the car simon and get a mate to sit on one of the front seats,ask him to stick the gear in reverse while you are watching the linkage from underneath ,you will see why its not going into where it shall go while your mate tries the reverse and than sort the problem out accordingly.
i had a problem with the 5th gear and ended up sticking a metal washer into where the linkage bolts the arm .solved the problem |
