down pipe

planning to get some more bits off the balck rt tomorrow that includes the exhaust system just for the sake of the cat .now where is the best place to work on to get the whole thing out in one go ,the back box is allready out btw
can i just undo the nuts to the down pipe and get the whole pipe out ?????

not as easy as said as usual , this is the nut i got out ,there is not one on the other side anyway ,so what else is holding the fecking exhaust now ?

there will be more than one bolt on the downpipe, generally 2 possibly 3, and the nut will be on the bunderside of the manifold, so you'll have to roll around on the floor to get it out!

there are supposed to be 2 symetrical nuts dan ,you can see the one on the pictures ,on the other side the nut is missing ,must have fallen off at some point .

i dropped the exhaust down from the mid box to the front by cutting the rubber hangers .might it need a bit off wiggle ???

ayee mate , the rt is being stripped due to ferked clutch ,cracked windscreen etc.
tried to sell it in one piece but nobody wants it to be honest .

the damm nuts under the springs sheared off , time for plan B me thinks Idea

will get the inlet manifold out and the exhaust manifold after and get the whole exhaust system out if space allows

any thing i am missing ??????

i had to cut the subframe in half to get my old downpipe off the red clio.

im not saying u shuold do it.

was the only way of getting it off, the wrecked had pushed it all back onto the downpipe.

managed to get the inlet manifold out today ,god that was some serious work due to inlet and exhaust manifolds being on top of eachother.

now gained more space for the exhaust system and the exhaust manifold is loose too but cant get the feckin thing out due to lack of space underneath the car .

the top nuts of the downpipe are out but still cant get the bottom ones pushing the springs out. how the hell are you meant to get grip on the bottom nuts ???? the whole thing turns when i turn the nut Rolling Eyes

it did come out in the end Laughing

had to tilt the whole thing thousand times to get it out between the driveshaft and the steering rack
